Happy New Year's Eve...a reflection of 2022!

It has been a year of massive change for me personally; I ended 2021 redundant from a company I had been with for over 20 years, both excited and scared to be starting a new chapter. I began 2022 attending an intense Prince2 course and began job hunting straight after my exams, which I had failed the first-time round. I was also promoting my self-published book series and spending Fridays with my youngest, Isla, as she was due to start full time school in the September.

I was fortunate to find a job quickly and started working full time again at the end of April. It was totally out of my comfort zone; I was now working with a brand I knew nothing about – coming from a brand I grew up with and knowing inside and out. It was stressful to say the least, and an emotional roller-coaster.

From working full time, being a present parent to Evie and Isla, and running a household, unfortunately, my book series had to be put on the backburner. I have totally missed promoting my books, and attending book markets, and visiting schools – but 2023 I am ready to be pushed to extreme exhaustion and share my amazing books as much as possible…watch this space!

The What Makes Our Family Special book series is based on Evie and Isla visiting different countries to learn about their heritage, and the heritage on their blended family. Evie and Isla have visited Guyana, Ireland, and most recently Barbados. These books represent us as a family, but they’re also great for children to visit somewhere in the world they have not yet been to or know about, as well as learning about cultures and traditions other than their own. For me, all cultures should be celebrated, and that’s what these books are about, with an added adventure.
